Spreading the Junior Star Singer message on radio and TV

It was time for the last show of the Junior Star Singer Songwriter radio tour as Amanda Neale set off into the streets of London with her artists Rachael Summers, co-presenter for the show, Georgia Lois and Teide Bryce.

Their first stop was London Live TV in Kensington as Amanda had to be interviewed following the promotion of the tour.  Joining her was Teide Bryce who is now being developed through the Junior Star Singer Artist Development Programme and was an original contestant for Brookland's Future Starz, which was the original pilot for Junior Star Singer Songwriter.

You catch the full below as Rachael and Georgia watched it from the guest room near the TV studio.

After the TV show, the girls made their way to West Side Radio in Hanwell, West London for the final show of the 2016 Radio Tour. West Side Radio is the second London Radio station that we have put on the tour.  All the JSS team had a fantastic time with the presenters on the Jam Session, which airs every Sunday between 4 and 7pm.  Special thank you to all of them! Arriving in the late afternoon, they were also joined by guest judge Adam Faires who came down for the London show to give his final vote on who should go through the final on December 3rd.  The contestants were all amazing and very hard to choose from overall...it can't have been easy! Take a look at the following clips:

Hannah Martin & Savannah Skillern:

Hollie Taylor:

Scott Thornhill & Hannah Martin:

After the contestants had all sung, it was time for the special guests.

Teide Bryce has been singing from a very young age, performing in local venues around her area. Since her father has played in a band and been a great influence in her music, she has written many of her own tracks. Teide approached the JSS team last year after her entry into Brooklands Future Starz. She is now being mentored by Amanda and will start recording her demo this year. You can catch a clip of Teide performing at West Side Radio below. She was incredible!

Georgia Lois started touring as a special guest for Junior Star Singer this year.  She has just had her first TV appearance on regional TV station That's Solent where she sang live after appearing on the Junior StarSinger show in Southampton earlier on in the summer. Georgia is looking forward to the film shoot for her promotional video of her song 'You and I'.  This can be seen on her website early next year.

And then it was time for the verdict, a very nervous time for everyone in the radio control room.............and the verdict was..............

A burst of colour for a Saturday morning

On Saturday 16th July, Amanda Neale and Rachael Summers made their way into London during the early hours of the morning towards the Oval near Kennington to host Junior Star Singer Songwriter for one of the London shows for 2016.

They were joined by Georgia Lois, their special guest on the show.  Georgia is doing special appearances on the Junior Star Singer Radio Tour.

She is currently recording with Anthony Goldsbrough who is the producer that the winning contestant will have the chance to sing and write their own track with.

Georgia has just had her first demo produced by Anthony and will be starting her EP soon.  Georgia is a young pop folk artist with the voice of a songbird. Her website went out live this weekend - check it out here.

Arriving at The Kia Oval outside Colourful Radio, the Junior Star Singer Team opened up the show with an interview with Georgia.

The London show was hosted by presenter Lorraine who normally does the drive time show on Saturdays, and Maurice Cunningham who presents on Fridays.  We had the chance to listen to Georgia singing her track 'Choose' as well as an interview on how she has been getting on with her latest recording of her first demo with an exclusive producer.

There was also a chance to listen to Rachael's new track 'It's not over for me', which will be one of the tracks on her new EP, due out later this year.

Junior Star Singer Songwriter is a competition for a mixture of vocalists and songwriters who come forward to sing covers or original material. They talk about their ambitions, dreams, hopes and aspirations of pursuing a career in the industry as a vocalist and songwriter.  If they are songwriters, they talk about their songwriting techniques and what they hope to achieve in the future.  Contestants are mentored by people within the industry so that they get advice on which direction is best for them.  In this show, we had commentary from TV and Film Manager Adam Faires who has worked in the music industry for a long time.  He talks about how he went from being a musician to then working for a record company and in the publishing field.

We then had the wonderful contestant Mollie entering Junior Star Singer Songwriter singing her version of 'With You'. She gave a dramatic, emotional performance with a lot of heart and soul.  Well done Mollie! Mollie would love to pursue a career in musical theatre and believes that winning Junior Star Singer would give her the right platform to fulfill this career.  So listen out for Mollie's amazing performance here:

Amanda then interviewed Mollie outside the radio station to get her views after she made her incredible performance.  Check out her interview here for Junior Star Singer..........a courageous performance and great interview.

Good luck in the competition Mollie!  It's been a wonderful day for Junior Star Singer.  Looking forward to the next show on the tour in Bradford and Halifax in the North of England later this Summer.

See you all soon!  XXX
